Terms
Terms of use
Short, because there isn’t much to it. By playing Operation Overlord you agree to the following. Operation Overlord is an Earth Ablaze game, and “we” here means Magnetic Labs Inc.
It’s free and early
The game is free to play and there’s no account to make. It’s an early build: rules and balance will change, and features described on this site may change or go.
Matches can be lost
Online matches live on the server only while they run. An update to the server can end a match in progress, and we don’t keep backups or replays. Practice games live in your browser tab and end when you close it.
Be decent in chat
Pick a display name and write chat you’d be fine with strangers reading. No harassment, hate or spam. We may remove a match, its chat or a seat binding to deal with abuse, without notice.
Feedback
Reports sent with the feedback form are suggestions. We may use them to change the game, in any way and without paying for them, and we don’t promise to act on any one report or to reply. Don’t put anything private in one.
Paid extras
Everything here is optional, and none of it changes how a war plays.
- Commander is a subscription at A$4 a month or A$36 a year. It renews until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account page (Manage billing); it stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for. It covers what the support page lists, and we’ll say so there before that list changes.
- Cosmetics are one-off purchases that change how things look in the game. They’re yours for as long as the game runs. They have no cash value and can’t be transferred.
- Tips are voluntary and buy nothing beyond the Supporter badge, if you’re signed in.
- Codes. A discount code takes money off on the payment page, on the terms that come with it, and can’t be added to a payment afterwards. A redeem code from a giveaway, a playtest or a stream gives an item or some Commander time with no payment. It’s one per account unless it says otherwise, has no cash value and can’t be swapped for money. We can switch off a code that’s leaked or misused.
Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Payments are handled by Stripe, a payment processor, on its own checkout page.
Refunds
Ask within 14 days of any payment, by replying to its receipt email, and you’ll get the money back, no reason needed. A refunded cosmetic is removed from your account. This is on top of your rights under Australian Consumer Law, which these terms don’t limit.
If the game ever shuts down, subscriptions stop billing first, and anything paid for a period we can’t provide is refunded.
Accounts
An account is an email address you can receive mail at. Keep that inbox to yourself: a sign-in link works for whoever opens it. You can delete your account at any time from the account page.
No warranty
The game is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We don’t promise it will be available, bug-free or fair in every situation.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss arising from using the site or the game, including lost matches.
Not affiliated
Operation Overlord is made by Magnetic Labs Inc. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any board game publisher, or by any other game that shares the name of the 1944 operation. The map is built from Natural Earth public-domain data.
